This past weekend, during the Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion, Mazda North American Operations (MNAO) officially welcomed the one-millionth MX-5 Miata to the U.S. in its first of 18 stops around the country.

As part of the Millionth Miata Celebration Tour, more than six hundred guests joined Mazda at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca to either personally sign the one-millionth MX-5 Miata or to create a custom engraved Millionth Miata Celebration Tour badge. The first 240 people in line received wristbands to sign the car, forever signing their name into history. Throughout the weekend, crowds gathered not only to celebrate the milestone, but to help shape the next chapter in the MX-5’s journey to the next million.

The one-millionth car—a right-hand-drive Japanese-specification soft top—has already made its way through Japan and Europe before landing in the U.S. The celebration tour is a worldwide event developed to thank fans and owners for their loyalty toward making the MX-5 the best-selling roadster of all time.
