2014-2016 Mazda 3 Recall For Fuel Leak From Weld Between Fuel Tanks And Inlet Check Valve

WASHINGTON, DC (October 7, 2016) – On September 22, 2016, Mazda Motor Corporation filed a safety defect report with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) to address a concern with certain 2014-2016 Mazda3 vehicles.

There were reports of fuel leaking from the fuel tank of Mazda3 vehicles. The cause was investigated and determined to be an improper weld of the Inlet Check Valve (ICV) to the fuel tank in the production process.

Approximately 17,484 vehicles are affected in the U.S.

There are no reports of fires or accidents.
