One-Millionth Miata Zooms through the Southeast on its Country-Wide Tour
The one-millionth Mazda MX-5 Miata continued to delight fans as it made its way through the Deep South with stops in Charlotte, North Carolina; Atlanta, Georgia; and Jacksonville and Daytona Beach, Florida.
In Charlotte, members of the South Carolina Miata Club showed up in full force to show their love for the Miata. Sam Barnett, driver of the No. 6 Mazda of South Charlotte MX-5 in the Battery Tender Global Mazda MX-5 Cup Presented by BFGoodrich Tires, made a special appearance for this tour stop as he greeted fans and signed autographs.
More than 130 MX-5 fans lined up at Mall of Georgia Mazda to sign the one-millionth MX-5 and take photos with the 15th-built MX-5, which was also on-hand as part of the Millionth Miata Celebration Tour.
Florida’s enthusiasm for one of the most recognizable vehicles in the world was demonstrated by the warm welcome the one-millionth MX-5 received as it stopped in Jacksonville and Daytona Beach.
Representatives from the Jacksonville Miata Owner’s Club showed up at Duval Mazda at the Avenues to check out the one-millionth MX-5, film a “Miata Moment” and enjoy the more than 20 Miatas on display by tour host Duval Mazda at the Avenues.
