2022 MAZDA MX-30 EARNS TOP RATINGS IN GOVERNMENT CRASH TESTS

WASHINGTON, DC (April 8, 2022) – Mazda North American Operations (MNAO) announces the 2022 Mazda MX-30, the company’s first battery electric vehicle, has received 5-star ratings in frontal and side crash tests, and a 5-star Overall Vehicle Score from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s (NHTSA) New Car Assessment Program (NCAP). NHTSA’s NCAP 5-Star safety ratings are intended to help consumers make smart decisions about safety when purchasing a vehicle. The 5-star safety ratings program evaluates how vehicles perform in crash tests. NHTSA conducts frontal, side, and rollover tests because they account for the majority of crashes on America’s roadways. Mazda Reports March Sales Results

IRVINE, Calif. (April 1, 2022) – Mazda North American Operations (MNAO) today reported total March sales of 33,023 vehicles, an increase of 3.2 percent compared to March 2021. Year-to-date sales totaled 82,268 vehicles; a decrease of 1.2 percent compared to the same time last year. With 27 selling days in March, compared to 26 the year prior, the company posted a decrease of 0.6 percent on a Daily Selling Rate (DSR) basis. CPO sales totaled 4,660 vehicles in March, a decrease of 41 percent compared to March 2021. Sales Highlights –  Best March sales ever of the CX-5 with 21,645 vehicles sold. –  Best March sales ever of the CX-9 with 4,148 vehicles sold. MAZDA NORTH AMERICAN OPERATIONS ANNOUNCES EXECUTIVE LEADERSHIP CHANGE TO ALABAMA BUSINESS UNIT

IRVINE, Calif. (March 18, 2022) – Mazda North American Operations (MNAO) today announced changes to its Huntsville-based Alabama Business Unit leadership, effective April 1, 2022. Taking the helm at the Alabama Business Unit will be Naoki Okano who will become Vice President. In his new role, Okano will assume ultimate responsibility for working with suppliers, handling logistics for the plant, and managing quality assurance. Prior to being promoted, Okano served as the CX-50 Program Manager. Mazda supports humanitarian efforts to help Ukraine emergency situation

Mazda Motor Corporation is deeply saddened by the events taking place in Ukraine and is concerned for the safety and well-being of people there and throughout the region. We hope that the situation will be brought to an end as soon as possible and that peace and security will return to Ukraine. Our colleagues in the region are already active with their humanitarian support and in addition we are making a financial donation of 1 million Euros to UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency to support the activities which provide humanitarian aid to the affected populations in Ukraine and countries in the region. IRVINE, CA – March 3, 2022 – The Board of Trustees of the Mazda Foundation (USA) Inc., has awarded funding for four new programs this year as it continues to build partnerships with organizations across the United States to help address food insecurity and some of its many root causes, particularly equitable access to education and job opportunities. In total, the Mazda Foundation awarded $495,000 to 11 organizations through its yearly grant giving process. IRVINE, Calif. (March 1, 2022) – Mazda North American Operations (MNAO) today reported total February sales of 28,166 vehicles, an increase of 8.3 percent compared to February 2021. Year-to-date sales totaled 49,245 vehicles; a decrease of 3.9 percent compared to the same time last year. With 24 selling days in February, compared to the same number the year prior, the company posted an increase of 8.3 percent on a Daily Selling Rate (DSR) basis. WASHINGTON, DC (Feb. 24, 2022) – The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) today announced the winners of its highest award in safety, the 2022 TOP SAFETY PICK+. Every tested Mazda vehicle made the list for the third consecutive year. These vehicles include the Mazda3 Sedan, Mazda3 Hatchback, CX-30, CX-5, and CX-9. To qualify for the 2022 TOP SAFETY PICK+ award, Mazda vehicles earned good ratings in each of the Institute’s six crashworthiness evaluations: moderate overlap front, driver-side small overlap front, passenger-side small overlap front, side, roof strength and head restraint tests. (Jan. 26, 2022) – Today, Mazda North American Operations (MNAO) President and CEO Jeff Guyton drives in the first 2023 Mazda CX-50 to roll off the Discovery Line at Mazda’s new Huntsville, Alabama plant. Mazda Toyota Manufacturing (MTM) is a $2.3 billion joint venture partnership between Mazda Motor Corporation and Toyota Motor Corporation.
