Free Oil Changes + Enhanced Cleaning for Healthcare Workers

No matter what you drive, Mazda is here for the road ahead.

The COVID-19 pandemic and its broad-reaching societal effects have left individuals and small and large business owners asking the question, “what can I do to help?”

And rightly so: with over one million cases reported in the U.S. to-date (as of May 8) and a curve whose ultimate endpoint remains as-yet-uncertain, the outbreak remains the chief target for our collective focus.

During this time of great national need on many fronts, Mazda wanted to help out by leaning into one of its core competencies: vehicle service and maintenance.

Caring for Caregivers

Mazda launched and has now extended the Essential Car Care program, which offers free oil changes and enhanced cleaning services to qualified healthcare workers at participating dealers nationwide. The program was inspired by several Mazda dealers across the country who began offering similar services to frontline workers in their communities.

This program, which began on April 16, is not limited to Mazda owners and is available for most makes and models from other manufacturers. Mazda will invest a minimum of $5 million to the initiative, which has been extended to run through June 1.

Doing Our Part

“Supporting the communities where we live and work is rooted deeply in Mazda’s 100-year history. We are honored to give back to those dedicated to saving lives during this pandemic,” Mazda North American Operations President Jeff Guyton said. “We understand the important role vehicles play in people’s lives, and by partnering with our dealer network, we hope to make a meaningful impact in communities around the country.”

In order to help ensure the safety of healthcare workers and service employees, dealers participating in the Essential Car Care initiative have committed to enhanced vehicle cleaning of high-touch interior and exterior surfaces using Mazda and EPA-approved cleansers. Mazda has also encouraged dealers to continue following the recommendations from the CDC and local public health and government officials, along with workplace personal hygiene practices, to help ensure the safety of everyone in the service areas.
